We could not be happier with the experience we had working with Mary and Heritage Rhodesian Ridgebacks. My husband and I have been dog owners for our entire life but when we lost our last dog (a Shiba Inu) to cancer we took a hiatus from dog ownership for about 2 years. During that time, as our grief slowly melted way, we started researching what breed our next dog would be. Because of our active lifestyle we were immediately drawn to the Ridgeback. I found Mary and was drawn in from the reviews past customers had left. My husband and I have two little girls, a three year old and a one year old so it was very important to us that we pick the right puppy. We started talking to Mary before she was even expecting puppies, just to learn more about the breed and decide if this would be a good dog for our family. She was extremely helpful, answering all of our questions despite the fact that she was on vacation. You can tell by talking to her how much she loves her dogs and how much care she gives to deciding when to breed and under what circumstances. We decided that we wanted a puppy from Mary and that we were willing to wait until she had one.

Once the puppies were born we were in constant contact with Mary. She would send pictures and videos of the puppies as they grew almost daily. We lived a bit far away to make a day trip to visit the pups but if you live close enough, Mary is happy to have you come and play with the little ridgies! As I said before, we have two small children so the temperament of the pup was very important to us. My husband and I work opposite shifts so we weren’t able to go and see the pups in person before we picked ours up but Mary had already identified which puppies would be best suited for small children and she set aside two hours of time for us to play with the pups and have individual time with each puppy and our girls to see which one was the best fit for our family.

Since bringing Nala home with us, Mary is still a part of our puppies life. We get helpful e-mails from her and she has been available to answer any questions we have had since we got back home with our Rhodesian. We would recommend Mary and Heritage to anyone looking for a puppy. Our experience has been wonderful
